Resolutions
It’s already one day past the new year and the temperature is back to normal with almost everyone. The greetings that trend with people at this time of the year are soon getting low. The last day of the last had almost everyone up till midnight. No one wanted to get passed as the year ended. Celebrations held in each and every town in the world.
So even as we move to the new year and the old bullshit of “new year new me” with everyone I got to ask, why do we have to put up our resolutions at the beginning of the year? Why not mid-year? Then again how many of us get to complete our resolutions at the end of the year? Why not try something different this year. Every month a new resolution, as long as you complete the first one. Leave nothing unfinished.
We humans are fond of setting up resolutions that we end up giving up on them even just before we get to start up on them. So why don’t you set up something different this year? Try doing something that you are sure of achieving by year end. Don’t say you will hit the gym and you are even lazy to get out of the house every morning. Don’t say you want to add weight and the amount you take is quite less. The resolutions don’t have to be physical for it to be recognized. Try mental too. Try living like the blind. They don’t judge by the looks, it’s by your heart. As long as it’s something good, try it out. Do something big for once. Try even something of the book. Dress up a different outfit from your normal one. Call in sick for a place you don’t even work. Wish someone a good day once a week. You don’t have to talk much. Try being creative this year and get to see where it will take you. When it succeeds, everyone will be up your sleeves asking how you did it. Who said resolutions have to be seen as a physical change?
Don’t consider me as a motivational speaker or one of those priests who keep on telling you that this is going to be your year, I'm just a guy who is telling you to try something different this year.
It wouldn’t hurt to share…
